Petroleum Engineering

What is Petroleum Engineering?
Petroleum Engineers collaborate closely with other professionals such as geologists, to design drilling operations and develop optimal processes for the production of petroleum products. To achieve this they use sophisticated computer modelling.

Petroleum Engineers have the job of helping boost energy production around the world, thereby aiding local and national economies. They are among the highest paid engineers, as they are employed by some of the largest companies in the world which operate multi-million dollar projects.

Petroleum Engineering as part of your Diploma
UNSW Diploma students will gain hands-on experience in engineering design and programming in addition to learning the fundamentals of mathematics and physics. All discipline-specific diploma courses are equivalent to first year undergraduate courses but students receive added support and will also be equipped with academic and English skills. This will ensure students have a strong basis for their journey into second year at UNSW Sydney.
