UNSW Foundation Studies Programs:
- Provide pathways to all UNSW bachelor degree programs.
- Range from 4 to 15 months in length (based on your academic and English language background).
- Enable you to study under the instruction of experienced teachers with your international peers, in a diverse global community.
- Ensure you are supported throughout your UNSW Global experience, with extra consultations, Study Club and learning support resources. As you transition into UNSW, you’ll be perfectly placed to meet the academic demands of your chosen degree.
In Term 1 2019 UNSW Business School, Engineering and Built Environment (Architecture) were the top three Faculties that Foundation students progressed into followed by Arts and Social Sciences, Science, Art and Design, Law and Medicine.

UNSW Foundation Studies Programs can help you meet the academic and English entry requirements for a bachelors degree at UNSW Sydney.
The program is for you, if you:
- Have completed at least 11 years of schooling or finished high school.
- Just missed out on entry to a UNSW Sydney degree or Diploma Program.
- Want to study at UNSW.
Transition Program
4 months
- Short and intensive
- Physical Science, Life Science, Commerce, Design and Architecture and Actuarial Studies Streams only
Standard Program
9 months
- Fast-paced
- Prepares you for your undergraduate program
- All Streams available
Standard Plus Program
12 months
- Slow-paced and supportive
- For students who have not met the entry requirements for the Standard Program
- All Streams available
Extended Program
15 months
- Slow-paced and supportive
- Suitable for students who require additional English support
- All Streams available
