Benefits of online learning

Start online and finish on campus

Start your course now online and once things settle down you could be studying on campus with your peers in no time, you can view the UNSW Campus virtual 360 tour here to see what to expect when you come to campus.

Personalised learning

A personalised learning experience most virtual tutorials have two teachers - one presenting and one answering your written questions, so students can interact in the way they feel most comfortable.

Student engagement and support

We have a wide range of fun online activities and challenges including movie clubs, book clubs and conversation clubs as well as cooking challenges, so you feel involved even though you will be studying from a distance. Our Student Support team is also here for you should you have any welfare issues that you would like to discuss. Our Student Services team can assist you with any administration questions you may have such as paying your fees or enrolling in your course.

Same learning outcomes

All course materials are adapted for online learning, so you gain the same knowledge, skills and credentials as you would face-to-face.

Stay on track

With frequent assessments to check your progress and provide regular feedback, we keep you on track throughout the course. Plus there’s access to additional online tutoring and consultation sessions.

What is online learning like?

Just like on-campus all our programs online have a live orientation session to help you get set up and ready for online learning.

Most virtual tutorials have two teachers - one presenting and one answering your written questions, so you can interact in a way that you feel most comfortable with and make friends along the way. All our class sizes are smaller than what you would experience at university so you can ease into the university experience with a mixture of live and pre-recorded tutorials.

Our online platform makes sure your experience is as close to face-to-face learning as possible. Complete online assessments and tests to get a GPA to take the next step with your studies.

We also have a ‘China Students Access Network’ (CSAN) for our mainland Chinese students this is a virtual highway that offers a more reliable, secure and consistent internet connection which improves the overall learning experience.

Sophie Tan
I’m happy with studying online because I like that I’m spending my time productively even through this difficult time. I’m happy that I’m able to complete my course as planned in terms of when I will finish, meaning that I still get to start my university degree as planned.
