PTE Academic is the world's leading computer-based test of English for international study and migration.

PTE Academic is accepted by thousands of universities and colleges worldwide as proof of English proficiency, as well as by the Australian government for visa applications.

PTE Academic assesses listening, reading, speaking and writing all via computer in a single three hour test session.

During the three-hour test session there will be three main parts to the test: speaking and writing (together), listening, and reading. There are twenty different question formats, ranging from multiple choice through to essay writing and interpreting information.

To improve your PTE Academic results, we strongly recommend taking the PTE Academic test preparation course offered by UNSW Global.

On test day arrive at least 30 minutes before your test, to check in and pass security. Don't forget to bring your passport. If you arrive more than 15 minutes later than the scheduled starting time of your test, you will not be allowed to sit the test, and you will lose your test fee.

Please check your official test confirmation email for your test session times.

Before your test our test administrator will ask to see your valid passport, ask for a digital photograph and signature, scan your palm, assign you a locker to check-in your belongings and ensure you are ready for your test. You will be taken in to a secure computer room to sit your test.

During the test you will use a computer and headset to listen to, read and respond to questions.

Results are typically available within five business days after the test date.

PTE Academic scores are accessed via an online account. You will receive an email notifying you once your scores are available. After you receive this, you will need to log in to the Pearson VUE account that you created to book your test to view your test results.

In Australia, PTE Academic costs: $375 AUD

Note, for bookings within 48 hours of the test date, a late fee of $20 AUD will be applied.
